1 — Unbox & inspect
Open the packaging and confirm the seal is intact. Check the device, cable, and included recovery card. If anything appears tampered with or missing, contact support immediately. Never use a device that arrives with suspicious or damaged packaging.
2 — Connect & power
Connect your device to a computer or mobile device using the supplied cable. The device will show a welcome message on its screen. Only proceed when the device displays the official initialization screen — do not follow links or prompts from unknown web pages or third-party software.
3 — Install official bridge
For the smoothest experience, install the official client or browser bridge from the vendor's website. This software enables secure communication between your hardware wallet and the app that manages your accounts. Download only from the official source and verify the checksum if available.
4 — Create device PIN
Set a secure PIN directly on the device. A PIN prevents unauthorized access if your device is lost or stolen. Choose a PIN you can remember but that is not easily guessed, and never share it. The correct PIN is required for every transaction.
5 — Generate recovery seed
Write down the recovery seed (24 words) shown by the device onto the recovery card. Keep this seed offline and in a secure place. Your recovery seed is the only backup that can restore your funds if the device is lost, stolen, or damaged. Do not store the seed digitally or photograph it.
6 — Confirm & verify
The device will ask you to confirm random words from your recovery phrase to ensure you copied them correctly. Confirm the words shown on the device screen against your written backup. Once verified, your wallet is ready to use.
7 — Firmware & updates
After setup, check for firmware updates and apply them from within the official app. Firmware updates fix bugs and add security improvements. Only install firmware distributed by the vendor and verified by the official client.
8 — Receive & verify transactions
When you receive funds, always verify the receiving address on your hardware device screen — not only in the app. This ensures that malware on your host device cannot alter the address. Confirm amounts and addresses before completing any transaction.

Security tip
Never enter your recovery phrase into software, websites, or email. Treat it like cash: anyone with access to those words can take your funds.
Cold storage best practice
Store your recovery seed in at least two geographically separated secure locations. Consider using fireproof and waterproof storage for physical backups.
Frequently asked questions
What if I lose my device?
If you lose your hardware wallet, obtain a new compatible device and restore using your recovery seed. Keep the seed safe — it is the only method to regain access.
Can someone steal my funds remotely?
Not without your PIN and recovery seed. Physical access to the seed or device is required to move funds. Use a strong PIN and secure your written backup.
Is the recovery seed unique?
The device generates a seed using cryptographic randomness. Do not reuse seeds from other wallets or devices.
